Randall County, Texas Decides to Place Public Court Case Information on the Internet

AMARILLO, TX February 15, 2000 - Randall County, Texas today joined iDocket.com, the computer system that is making public court case information from counties around Texas available on the world wide web. Randall County joins other Texas counties that are leading the nation in creating easy access to county-level court case information.

iDocket.com offers convenient Internet access to public, county-level court case information. iDocket.com is an on-line, Internet-accessible database that can be used to track cases filed in various Texas counties. iDocket.com gives desk top access to court records that users would normally be required to request by mail or retrieve in person from the courthouse. Information for iDocket.com is extracted from the court clerk's database daily and loaded onto the iDocket.com Internet website so that users may do a "virtual inspection" of court cases by viewing the equivalent of the clerk's file docket.

iDocket.com provides the following court case information: case number, names of the parties, fines, fees, and payments, listing of all documents filed with the court clerk, listing of all notifications, subpoenas, etc., issued by the court clerk, filing date, disposition date, category of case, attorneys, bondsman, the court, and type of case. iDocket.com also provides advanced capabilities to search court records across counties by: names of the parties, type of case, cases filed during a date range, cases disposed during a date range, court and attorney. Attorneys are the primary users of iDocket.com system.

"Although attorneys have been the most vocal in encouraging Randall County to provide Internet access to court cases information," said Jo Carter, District Clerk of Randall County, "other users of the system will include title companies, state and county agencies and news media."

iDocket.com offers free access to its entire multi-county court case information database to any Internet user for thirty days. After the thirty day free access period, Internet users have the option of obtaining selected court case information about specific cases at no charge or obtaining unlimited access to the entire iDocket.com multi-county court case data base for a nominal monthly fee.
